Valentine Chin appointed 2022 Guinness Super League Assistant Referee of the Year

Chin Valentine has been named the 2022 Guinness Super League Assistant Referee of the Year, FECAFOOT and Guinness in collaboration with the Cameroon Referee Association announced Friday. It’s the first time she earned this recognition during her top-flight career, but the second time she gets this recognition – the other being in the final of the Northwest Regional championship in 2019.

Tina as she is popularly called shared the award with Tsafack Laure who also had a great year.

Chin was involved in 12 Guinness Super League games last season, taking her total to 22 games since her promotion in 2019.

Last season was the highlight of her career in the top-flight championship as she played three Guinnessico and earned plaudits for her inputs in all occasions.

The aspiring FIFA referee has served as an assistant referee for five years, and her career highlights also include playing in the final of the Northwest Regional championship in 2019.

Nominated by the Guinness Super League jury as candidate Assistant Referee of the Year, Chin was voted by clubs technical staff, media and players of the championship.
