CAF, Ivorian Government and LOC signs TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Hosting agreement in Abidjan

With just over a year to Africa’s single-biggest event; the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe together with Cote d’Ivoire Government and the Local Organising Committee (“LOC”) signed the Host Country agreement on Friday afternoon in Abidjan.

The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Cote d’Ivoire Patrick Achi, Cote d’Ivoire Sport Minister Claude Paulin Danho, Ivorian Football Federation President Yacine Idriss Diallo, CAF Vice President, some Presidents of African Member Associations and General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba.

Hosting Agreement between CAF and Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) is a document where CAF designates FIF as the host association to organize the 34th edition of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations and the Confirmation Agreement between CAF, FIF and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) where FIF transfers its obligations vis-à-vis CAF to the LOC which in turn assumes the material organization of the competition in Cote d’Ivoire.

The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’iovoire will end a 38-year old wait for the country as they last hosted the event in 1984.
