Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has slammed refree Ismael Elfath for his decision to award penalty to Portugal.
After an impressive performance from the Black Stars in the first half, American refree awarded a dubious penalty to Portugal after Mohamed Salisu went for a fair challenge in the 18 yard box of the Black Stars which was converted nicely by Cristiano Ronaldo as the Portuguese went on to record a 3-2 over Ghana.
Speaking after the game,Gyan , Who has played in three different World Cups criticized the decision of the refree.
“The penalty decision was poor and soft”,Gyan said on SuperSports.
“I am a striker but what we saw was soft and should not be a penalty ,” Gyan added.
Ghana will hope to secure their first win when they come up against South Korea on Monday at the Education City Stadium.
