Former Ghana forward Augustine Arhinful backs Chris Hughton for vacant Black Stars coaching job after Otto Addo’s exit

Former Ghana forward Augustine Arhinful has throw his weight behind Chris Hughton for the vacant Black Stars coaching job following Otto Addo’s departure.

The Black Stars were eliminated after the first round of the tournament following a 2-0 defeat to Uruguay.

After defeating South Korea in their second group game, the Black Stars needed a win or draw against Uruguay to sail through to the last 16.

But the team failed to negotiate points against Uruguay.

At the post – match conference ,the Germany based trainer announced he has stepped down as a coach of the Black Stars to concentrate on his role as the talent development coach of Dortmund.

This means the Ghana FA must appoint a new trainer who will steer affairs of the team for the upcoming games.

In an interview, the formal Ghana International asserted it will not be out of place if Ghana appoints Chris Hughton to lead the national team.

“He was part of the technical team for the World Cup and I believe whatever he has learnt ,he has learn it already.

The challenges he has encountered and others, I am sure if given the job,he can be his own man because people have whispered into his ears his and he knows what he can do when given the job “.

“It will not be out of place if he is given the job “, he said on Vision 1 FM.
