Former Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has now signed a two-year deal with Al Nassr after leaving Manchester United in November, with the Saudi Arabia club confirming the move.
The club announced the signing of the ex-Real Madrid star on Friday evening.
Saudi state TV al-Ekhbariya revealed that a deal for Ronaldo had been struck before Al-Nassr posted on social media, calling the former Manchester United forward the “world’s greatest athlete”.
Al-Ekhbariya report that the 37-year-old will start with Al-Nassr in January.
Ronaldo will reportedly receive the biggest football salary in history at more than £177m per year.
The 37-year-old says he is “eager to experience a new football league in a different country”.
Al Nassr – nine-time Saudi Pro League champions – described the signing as “history in the making”.
The club said it would “inspire our league, nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves”.
Ronaldo left United last month following an explosive television interview in which the forward said he felt betrayed by the club and did not respect their Dutch manager Erik ten Hag.
He scored 19 goals in 40 games for the Red Devils between 2021 and 2022.
