Jude Bellingham ‘held crunch talks with Borussia Dortmund this week over £120m summer move away’ as Real Madrid ‘lead the race’ for the England star

Jude Bellingham ‘has held talks with Borussia Dortmund over his next move’ amid interest from Real Madrid and a clutch of Premier League clubs in the England star.

The 19-year-old midfielder only returned to training with Dortmund this week having been granted three weeks off following England’s World Cup campaign.

With their Bundesliga season not resuming until January 22, Dortmund are heading to Marbella for a warm weather training camp, which will see them play friendlies against Fortuna Dusseldorf and Basel.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Dortmund invited Bellingham and his representative to a meeting this week to clarify his intentions ahead of the summer.

Although Bellingham’s Dortmund contract runs until 2025, AS say the German club are 95 per cent certain he will leave and have placed a minimum transfer fee of £88m on him, plus £35m in add-ons.

AS claim Real Madrid are in the box seat to sign Bellingham but they are likely to face stiff competition from Liverpool, Manchester City and possibly others in England.

Dortmund are keen to know the player’s intentions ahead of their trip to Spain, where the scrutiny on him will be intense. The Bundesliga club will respect Bellingham’s wish to leave.

Real have already lodged their interest with relations between their president Florentino Perez and Dortmund’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke cordial.

Bellingham was part of the England side eliminated by France in the World Cup quarter-finals on December 10.

Dortmund aren’t in competitive action until their home fixture against Augsburg on January 22. They sit sixth in the standings after 15 games, some nine points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
