Egypt’s national U-20 team won 1-0 against South Sudan, in a friendly match in preparation for the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in the land of the Pharaoh.
Abdel Rahman Rashdan scored Egypt’s only goal from the penalty spot in the match that was held at the Military Academy Stadium
The match took place a week before the 12-team tournament, which is also a FIFA U-20 World Cup qualifier, kicks off.
Mahmoud Ghaber opted for a line-up of Ahmed Nader Al-Sayed as the goalkeeper.

The outfield players include Omar Fayed, Abdul Rahman Rashdan, Ahmed Reda, Muhammad Faris, Majid Hani, Khaled Awad, Karim Al-Dabis, Ahmed Nader Hawash, Omar Al-Sa’i and Salah Pasha.
Egypt will play in Group A, alongside Mozambique, Senegal and Nigeria.
The U20 AFCON will kick off on 19 February and the final is set to take place on 11 March at the Cairo International Stadium.
