Zambia U-20 coach Chisi is unhappy following a 2-1 defeat to Tunisia

Zambia coach Chisi Mbewe was disappointed with the Young Copper Bullets performance against Tunisia in Group C on Monday.

The Cosafa champions suffered a 2-1 defeat against the Young Carthage Eagles to exit the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations with a solitary point.

Kingstone Mutandwa cancelled out Jibril Othman’s glancing header for Tunisia with a brilliantly taken goal.

Tunisia regained the lead two after Zambia’s equaliser when Jibril Othman’s cross field ball was not dealt with by Amon Chulu freeing Mohamed Dhaoui to cut in before picking the roof of the net with a sumptuous strike on 59 minutes.
“The result is frustrating and disappointing for us,” Mbewe said.

“We allowed Tunisia to score twice against us and put ourselves under pressure.

“We tried to focus on scoring from set-pieces but the opposite happened as we conceded from a set piece.

“We have players who are qualified to play for the Chipolopolo regardless of today’s performance,” Mbewe added.
